Zoey’s Story — A Wish That Danced Back Hope
Thirteen-year-old Zoey from Alameda, California, fell in love with K-Pop long before she was diagnosed with cancer in early 2024. During treatment, the music that once brought her joy became her source of strength and courage.
For months, Zoey faced rounds of chemotherapy, long hospital stays, and isolation from friends. Through it all, she filled her days with songs, sketches, and dreams of visiting South Korea, the birthplace of the music that kept her spirit alive.
When Make-A-Wish told Zoey her dream would come true, it arrived at just the right moment, a light in the middle of her toughest fight. She wished to travel to South Korea for a full K-Pop experience with her family, marking the 10,000th wish granted by Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area.
Her story reminds us why every act of giving matters — because joy and hope can change everything.
