During my time in Florence, I had the honor of visiting Meyer Children’s Hospital as part of a guided tour hosted by the hospital’s foundation. The moment I stepped onto the grounds, it was clear why this hospital is known throughout the region for its excellence, organization, and deep commitment to children and families.
Meyer Children’s Hospital is one of Italy’s most respected pediatric care centers, serving children from across the country with a combination of world-class medical expertise and heart-centered support. What stood out most to me was the thoughtful integration of healing and humanity in every corner of care.
Throughout the hospital, I saw programs designed to support children as whole human beings. Play therapy initiatives use music, art, and creative expression to help young patients navigate fear, anxiety, and the challenges of long treatments. These programs provide a space for joy, resilience, and comfort even in difficult times, and they exemplify the kind of compassionate innovation that has made Meyer so impactful.
This visit reinforced a core belief that has guided MUOI from the beginning: we believe that brands should support the communities that build them — the artisans, caregivers, families, and everyday people whose labor and care shape the world we live in.
